Koinè 2017: The most important European Exhibition for the religious sector has begun. Vicenza, 11-14 March. Solidarity is key

At 11.00 AM, the inaugural ribbon was cut at a ceremony attended by Monsignor Beniamino Pizziol, Bishop of Vicenza, Matteo Marzotto, Executive Vice President of IEG, Don Valerio Pennasso, Director of the National Department for Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage and Religious Buildings of the CEI, Monsignor Fabrizio Capanni of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Monsignor Giancarlo Santi, President of the Scientific Committee of Koinè Ricerca, Monsignor Francesco Gasparini, director of the Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage Office for the Diocese of Vicenza, Enrico Zanetti, Councillor for Simplification Policies of Vicenza City Council, there to represent the Mayor, Achille Variati, and Provincial Councillor Francesco Enrico Gonzo, delegate for the President of the Province of Vicenza, Achille Variati.  

The guest of honour at the inauguration was the Bishop of Rieti, Monsignor Domenico Pompili, who, representing the communities affected by the earthquakes in Central Italy, was able to receive in person, donations to rebuild the churches that were destroyed, offered by some of the exhibitors at Koinè: liturgical vestments; chalices; patens; furniture for places of worship; holy images, and systems and installations. More than 100 manufacturers have been involved in this initiative, 60 of whom were there to make their donations in person, while others have committed to the supply of sound equipment, bells and building materials.
