Jewellery and fashion are the protagonists of Choice, the autumnal display of the latest trends in gold, jewellery and watchmaking. Choice is the gold jewellery exhibition of Fiera di Vicenza geared towards retail distribution, which (in chronological order) takes place after First in January and Charm in May.
Over 1,500 exhibitors present and 16,000 qualified dealers expected, for “five days” of business with international buyers originating from all over the world, with many visiting Palladio’s city for the first time.
The ribbon cutting is expected to take place on Saturday 6th September at 11:30 in the B-One Pavillion on Viale dell’Oreficeria, in presence of Vicenza Fiera’s President, Dino Menarin, and Managing Director Domenico Girardi. Other guests include Mr. Mohammed Al Hosni – General Manager of Oman International Exhibition Centre S.A.O.C, and Mr. Mohammed Al Jaziri – Business Development Manager of Sama Expo, the institutional delegation of the Sultanate of Oman.
At 16:30 in the afternoon, the inauguration of Glamroom, the Choice event dedicated to fashion jewellery and trend collections with a high style and innovation content; a scenic exhibitive space designed by the Aldo Cibic & Partners Studio.
Glamroom equals experimentation and offers a new conception of jewellery, shedding its more traditional connotations so that it may present itself through new and unusual forms of expression. Accessible luxury and a love of beautiful things will be the guidelines for an event that aims to differentiate itself also in terms of clientele: particular attention will be paid to international department stores, new dealers and distribution channels such as global concept stores, slow stores, beauty shops, spas, resorts, art galleries and the world of duty free.
On Sunday 7th September, at 10:30, an event that’s not to be missed: Corart, Cna Vicenza with the coordination of Venice International University, present “Creativity in Action” – a video performance at the entrance of Glamroom that will involve the goldsmiths, designers and artists that took part in the Biennale in Vicenza.
Even ViArt, the Vicentine exhibitive centre for artistic handicraft, inaugurated last April in the heart of the historical centre, will attend Choice with highly prestigious works created by Vicenza’s artists and artisans.
Sunday will also mark the attendance of VIP guests from the entertainment world. Noted names in the world of television will be present, such as Mara Vernier with her personal line of jewellery, “My Mara”, along with the effervescent presenter of “L’Italia sul due”, who will wear the ‘April’ collection pieces: Cristina Chiabotto with Facco Gioielli’s “Spell”.
Choice’s spotlight will also involve Zancan, Marco Bicego, Roberto Coin, Misis, Morellato, Ungari, De Simone, G. Verdi, Annamaria Camilli.
In Glamroom, the spotlight instead turns to the jewellery of Antica Murrina, Elena Martinico, Limelights and Dejàvu, Brosway, Anjel, Sciara, Morellato, Alberto Luzzi designer of Adami e Martucci. Sheila Fajl and Bochic, who create jewellery for celebrities and stars, will also reach Vicenza. And, thanks to collaboration with professional associations and institutions in support of younger companies, special exhibitions dedicated to Italian and foreign artisans such as Paola Garofalo Collections and Sabido & Basteris will also take place, along with a display of unique pieces designed by architect Ettore Sottsass for Cleto Munari, “The Seduction”, and art installations featuring jewellery.
And numerous side-projects will naturally feature as well, including exhibitions and technical seminars that take an in-depth look at jewellery in all of its cultural, artistic and symbolic dimensions. In the meantime, the sector’s dealers have their own rich calendar of meetings and events, contributing to the status of Choice as a must-see event and an international point of reference.
