WHAT'S NEW AT VICENZAORO CHARM IN VICENZA FAIR

The international jewellery show opens on Saturday 21 May at 12.00 noon

There are great expectations for VICENZAORO Charm which will be opening its doors to Italian jewellery from 21 to 25 May. For five days Vicenza becomes the world capital of trends for jewellery, the heart of its Italian DNA, and the place where the interweaving of jewellery and the fashion universe becomes reality.
A prestigious stage for about 1,400 companies, it will continue the far-reaching innovation strategy initiated in January with the FDV 2011/15 project at VICENZAORO First.

The new cross-fertilizing trajectories between segments dedicated to women and men of the third millennium, who bring style and design to their daily universe, will be defined as a result: the jewel is at the centre of the new approach for communicating with contemporary consumers. Many surprises will greet the operators who will be immersed in a week of unmissable appointments: suggestions, trends, meetings, fashion, exhibitions and workshops.
The question "Chi ha paura?/Who's afraid?" posed by the Dutch designer, Gijs Bakker – founder of Droog Design, one of the most important movements in international design – will be the theme of the opening scheduled for 12 noon on Saturday 21 May.
The event will be introduced by Fiera di Vicenza President, Roberto Ditri, with contributions from Diane Pernet, blogger, icon of international fashion and expert in contemporary jewels; Gaetano Marzotto, Chairman of Pitti Immagine and a member of the Valentino and Hugo Boss boards, and Diego Dolcini, luxury footwear designer. The discussion will be moderated by Giusi Ferrè, one of Italy's leading fashion journalists. They will all be guests of Fiera di Vicenza for an event which will reflect on cross-fertilization as a driver of jewellery innovation.

Bakker gave the name "Chi ha paura?/Who's afraid?" to his collection of jewels created along with the greatest international designers, from Ron Arad to Studio Job. The collection of 91 pieces will be on display in the old centre of the Palladian town during VICENZAORO Charm.

Fiera di Vicenza is also the only Fair at global level with a "Trend Vision" area, a real "Creative Workshop" dedicated to the visual definition of trends for orienting companies, stylists and operators so that they can finalize their strategies for the development of new products; it is intended to reposition Italian-made ware as a source of research and promote the culture of innovation in the jewellery and luxury sector.

Delegations from all over the world are expected at VICENZAORO Charm where the stars will be Asia, with India, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and the Middle East with Dubai, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. But Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Brazil, Morocco, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic Republics and the former Soviet Republics will also be present. Around 500 members of international delegations will be guests at VICENZAORO Charm.
Open to operators in the sector, VICENZAORO Charm can be visited from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and from 9.30 to 4.00 p.m. on the last day.
