ON STAGE FROM 10 - 14 SEPTEMBER VICENZAORO CHOICE AT VICENZA FAIR

Opening talk on Saturday, 10 September at 11:30 AM in the Palladio Room at Vicenza fair

About 1,400 companies from more than 30 foreign countries will be featured from 10 - 14 September at VICENZAORO Choice, the traditional autumn showcase dedicated to Italian, European, and International retailers.
In this September edition, the third on the calendar of international gold and jewellery shows held at Fiera di Vicenza, one of the best characteristics of ‘Made in Italy’ is celebrated: the art of savoir-faire intended as a collection of know-how, tradition, and expertise that is the very foundation of Italian design and manufacturing, enabling the creation of quality jewellery that stands out on the global jewellery panorama.
One theme that will be the leitmotiv of the opening talk on Saturday, 10 September at 11:30 in the Palladio Room is ‘Innovation is in our hands. Meticulously Italian’. Speakers at the opening talk of VicenzaOro Choice will be the President of Fiera di Vicenza Roberto Ditri; Stefano Micelli, economist and Dean of Venice International University and author of the book entitled ‘Futuro Artigiano’; Emanuele Aliotti Visdomini, Vice President of Vhernier; Giovanni Bonotto, Vicenza businessman and Creative Director of the company bearing his own name; Claudia Piaserico, Creative Director of Misis and winner of the Bellisario 2011 award; architect Armona Pistoletto, Cittadellarte in Biella; Umberto Vattani, Ambassador and President of Venice International University. The works will be moderated by Dario Di Vico, editorialist of the Corriere della Sera.

This is therefore a Fair that is above all a venue of contents and has thus chosen to continue investing in new projects in this direction; like in the competition for young artists under-30 entitled ‘Next Jeneration – Jewellery Talent Contest’ in collaboration with the Milan Polytechnic and dedicated to the theme ‘Souvenir d’Italie’. Then there is the ’’Andrea Palladio International Jewellery Awards’, a prize dedicated to worldwide excellence in jewellery that boasts a prestigious international Jury, headed by Maestro Gianmaria Buccellati.
The launch of the competition and the award is set to take place on Friday, 9 September at 11:30 during the press conference to present About J – the event dedicated to the high-end range of Italian and international jewellery - to be held in the Bisazza Show Room at Alte di Montecchio Maggiore, just a few kilometres from Vicenza.

Innovations include the debut of new contemporary jewellery in the ‘New Directions Hall’, an exhibition space situated in TREND VISION, dedicated to the most avant-garde jewellery in shapes and materials, created by 14 young designers to represent the interpretations of Italian jewellery design.
Then there are other events in town: above all “The Italian Way: between craft and technology. Projects around the body”, the show organised by Fiera di Vicenza in collaboration with Alba Cappellieri, director of the Fashion Design degree course at Milan Polytechnic and Professor of Jewellery Design, proposing the excellence of Italian products in the splendid setting of Piazza Matteotti, which will be open to the public until 10 October 2011.
